Transfers

Transfers to another camp or date must be requested at least two weeks in advance. If space is available, we’re happy to make the change at no extra cost.

Student Expectations

The students are expected to be respectful of all teachers, students, and artwork at all times. They will be encouraged to work quietly on their projects in order to access the right side of their brain (the side used for drawing.) As well, students are expected to clean up and put away all their supplies promptly at the end of each class. Seating arrangements may be changed during the camp in order for students to meet others in their class and for inspirational purposes.

Arrivals, Departures and Waiting Time

Please be sure that students arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to camp beginning as the teacher is setting up for the lesson. Please pick up your child promptly when his/her camp is over. There will be no supervision provided at the end of class. If you are late, please make arrangements with your child.

Class Observation

One of the unique features of our studio is the abundance of windows. If you arrive early, you can watch your child in action by simply looking into the studio. Please feel free to enter the studio 5 minutes early to see the projects your child has been working on for the day.

Attire

Please be sure that your child is wearing old, comfortable clothing or a paint shirt. Some of the materials we will be using are difficult to get out of clothing.

Music

We will be listening to a variety of music over the course of the year. Music will not have lyrics (as we want students to access the right side of their brain while drawing) unless it’s in another language that they don’t understand.

Communication

Please keep the lines of communication open and let me know what your child needs (e.g., projects are too challenging, not challenging enough, etc.) If you have any questions, whether it’s about course material or teaching philosophy, I’d be happy to chat with you. Please call or email me.
