This camp offers a fun exploration of watercolour painting. Designed for students who are new to this delicate and diverse medium; we also welcome students with painting experience who want to expand their vocabulary and techniques. Projects are specifically tailored to watercolour paint, allowing for greater exploration and specialization.
We begin with an introduction to colour theory and play around with the medium while experimenting with various watercolour techniques and painting processes. Each day, students will practice with quick studies and work towards finished pieces. The possibilities are endless, so let’s dive in!
Materials are included in camp fees and each student receives their own supply kit to use during the camp. While drawing experience is beneficial, it is not necessary as a prerequisite to join this camp.

Our Saturday Summer Series is essentially or Basics of Drawing camp split into weekly classes.
Students gain a solid understanding of drawing fundamentals in a sequential and progressive series of exercises and finished projects. They will learn to see the world through an artist’s eyes, practice techniques for realistic drawing, embrace "mistakes" as inspirations for new ideas and appreciate the value of abstract art. Through instructor demonstration and student exploration, they will discover the magic of vivid art materials such as oil and chalk pastel, coloured pencil, markers, paint, charcoal, pencil, pen and more.
In just one hour of instruction, your child will draw independently with confidence. Geared towards children aged 7 and older, this art camp welcomes beginners on their artistic journey and drawing enthusiasts without prior formal instruction. Students will proudly take home a collection of 10-12 art pieces, showcasing their progress and creativity.

Let your child embark on an artistic journey through the ages! Our Meet the Masters camp will ignite your young artist’s interest for art history.
In each diverse and multicultural art lesson, students will be introduced to professional painting, drawing, and mixed media techniques, as well as the distinctive styles of the Masters. They will delve into the works of Salvador Dali, Amedeo Modigliani, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Hokusai and create a finished art piece for each, utilizing a variety of media. Through this immersive experience, students will develop their skills, boost self-confidence, and express themselves while having fun. Drawing experience is beneficial.
All students will receive a studio supply kit to use during the camp at our studio. All completed projects will remain at the studio until the end of the week, allowing students to proudly showcase their artwork. They will take home not only their artwork but also a wealth of knowledge and a multitude of new ideas.

Take your art to the next dimension as we move creativity off the page and bring it to life.
This camp offers instruction in three distinct sculpting techniques, including armatures, relief sculpture, and paper sculptures. Students learn how to create armatures as underlying structures, giving their sculptures form and stability. Relief sculptures consists of sculpting material raised above a background plane, adding depth and height. Paper sculptures such as origami are an accessible and cost effective sculpting form that everyone can enjoy.
Please note that this is not a craft camp. The knowledge gained in this one-week program will truly amaze both your child and you. Our sculpting expert, Ms. Deborah Lawton, brings a wealth of experience working with children and youth of all ages, ensuring that students learn to sculpt like a professional artist.

Aliki’s 7-step system is a unique teaching method. We’ve broken down the process of drawing into basic skills and teach each skill in a series of steps. We don’t just tell our students what to do and expect them to do it; we explain the steps and show them how to succeed at them, providing feedback along the way. Our methodology has been tried and tested for almost 3 decades. Our claim to fame? We can teach ANYONE how to draw in as little as a day.
One of the best things you can do is buy the book, Drawing with Children by Mona Brookes, and start working through it together with your child.
Talent is optional – interest is an asset! If you have the inner desire to be an artist, becoming one is very possible. Most people believe the myth that you must be talented in order to create. That’s just not so. What you need is to be shown, in a very structured way, the steps to getting there. Drawing classes will automatically give you the boost you need to begin. Because a realistic style of drawing is so valued, most people think if they can’t draw realistically, they must not be an artist. Not true. However, once you learn the secrets to drawing realistically, it does give you the confidence to understand that art is an opportunity open to all.
Often, the reason children don’t show any interest in art is that they have simply not been taught how to create. Although drawing skills do come naturally for some children, most need to be taught these skills. It’s unfortunate that some children discount their artistic ability at an early age. However, this can be changed. If your child doesn’t show any interest in art, perhaps all he or she needs is some good instruction (see book suggestion above). No one wants to try something that they don’t think they’ll be good at. Children get easily frustrated when their drawings don’t look realistic (if that is their goal). By introducing children to the process of learning HOW to draw, they can become successful.
Teaching the world to draw since 1991! Welcome to a journey where art is not just a skill but a way of life! Since our founding in 1991, we have been dedicated to teaching practical art skills that empower individuals to express themselves, discover new talents, and gain confidence in their abilities. Our mission is to make art accessible to everyone and to nurture creativity in a supportive and inspiring environment.
