Camps for Children and Teens
You asked for more online options, and we listened because we understand this year is different!
We’ve moved our most popular summer camps online to give students a virtual studio experience from the comforts of home.
THE BASICS OF DRAWING ~ AN EXPLORATION
(7 YEARS & OLDER)
Everything starts with drawing! Drawing is all about looking, making a mark and learning how to refine that mark to express what you see or feel. Using Aliki’s 7-Step system, students gain an understanding of drawing fundamentals while exploring 1 or 2 media (e.g., markers, oil pastel, tempera paint, + pencil.) During the week, student artists practice different styles of drawing from realistic to abstract. This summer art camp is geared to children and youth who are beginning their artistic journey, as well as drawing enthusiasts without prior formal drawing instruction.
5-Day Camps are available. Your child will be drawing independently with confidence after 1 hour of instruction! Student artists will learn to see how an artist sees, and practice tips and tricks for drawing realistically like a pro. They will learn to let go of perfectionism and turn their “mistakes” into abstract inspirations and new discoveries. Camp projects are tailored 1 or 2 materials to allow for greater exploration and specialization with oil pastels & graphite pencils.
Required materials: oil pastels, fine markers, black pen, HB, 2B, 6B pencils, white eraser, kneaded eraser, sharpener. Students may use their own materials or purchase a supply kit from Aliki’s Art House.
Please note this camp is available in person at the studio, as well as online. Parent support is beneficial during online class set up for younger children. Please indicate your preferred format at the time of registration. Please feel to call for more information.
